First post as a WWOOFer and looking forward to getting involved in visiting and working with a host in Portugal.
I'm wondering though where we get WWOOF numbers from? The handbook http://www.wwoof.pt/forum/attachments/?L=&tx_mmforum_pi1[attachment]=4 (p.6) it states that one should always give their membership numbers on any correspondence with the hosts. We don't - as far as I can tell - have a WWOOF number.

Hi Andy,
That information is valid to WWOOF Independents.
At WWOOF Portugal (As well Sweden, Danmark and Moldova) you don't need a WWOOF number.
Our Hosts are able to check your membership online using your username or your email.

Well, that's good to know then - thanks. The situation is clearer when a host allows a volunteer to PM them, but was less clear when I had to send an email from a private address.
